Privacy Policy

The term Personal Data is referring to information which may identify a person. In this Privacy Policy you can read about which Personal Data UNITE Global AS (“UNITE”, “we” or “us”) is processing as the Data Controller.   

It is important to UNITE that your rights to your Personal Data at any time is safeguarded and that our processing of such Personal Data is compliant with applicable laws and regulations, including the European Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”), the Norwegian Personal Data Act and related regulations.   

This Privacy Policy is providing information about how UNITE is processing your Personal Data, and your rights in that respect.  


When UNITE is processing Personal Data   

Who are we processing Personal Data about:

This Privacy Policy is about our processing of Person Data related to the following individuals in the following situations;  

  1. Individuals who are visiting our website www.unite-global.com 
  2. Contact persons at banks and any other legal entities who have been contacting us 
  3. Individuals involved in transactions which are executed by using services provided by us 
  4. Individuals who are subscribing to newsletters, invitations to seminars, events and other consecutive information from us 
  5. Contact persons at our customers, suppliers and collaboration partners  
  6. UNITE Employees 
  7. Individuals who have applied for a position at UNITE, alternatively are identified as references in relation to such applications. 
  8. Individuals who have contacted us in any other matters.  

 

Processing is limited to the purpose

Dependent on the above purposes, it may be necessary to process various Personal Data, such as name, phone number, e-mail or other address. It may also be necessary to process data which indirectly may identify your Personal Data, such as the IP-address you are communicating from. For employees and applicants for vacancies we may also process personal identity number, Curriculum Vitae, certificates, references, names and contact details for references.  

Our processing of Personal Data will always be strictly limited to the necessary for fulfilling the purpose.  

Unless otherwise stated, all processing of Personal Data is based on express and informed consent from you as the registered individual, in accordance with GDPR Article 6. No 1, litra (a).  


Payment services  

UNITE is processing Personal Data in order to provide the international payment services in a safe and feasible manner, in compliance with the agreements with the network banks and applicable laws and regulations. Processing of Personal Data is strictly limited to the purpose, and only to the extent necessary.  

Which Personal Data we need to process in order to execute the payment services is dependent on the scope and character of the applicable assignments. In any event, and to the extent needed to confirm their identities, we are processing the names of the parties of the applicable payment transactions, contact persons at the banks and enterprises of the involved, as well as address (postal and e-mail) and phone number. When need to provide the payment services we also process personal identity numbers and identification documents related to parties of the applicable payment or their representatives.  

We are mainly provided with the above Personal Data from banks. In some cases, we may also collect Personal Data from others, such as other parties involved in the payment services, governmental authorities and public sources of the relevant information.   

The legal grounds for processing of Personal Data in such situations is the processing is necessary to execute and order for payment services, cf GDPR art. 6, No 1, litra (b), or that the processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation we have, cf. GDPR art. 6, NO 1, litra (c), including procedures to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing, as well as to comply with domestic and international sanctions.  

Processing of Personal Data may also be founded in a balance between the interests we are pursuing and the fundamental rights of the registered individual, cf. GDPR art. 6, No 1, litra (f). The aforesaid may be applicable in the execution of payment services, and the registered individual is not directly part in an agreement with UNITE. In such event, we are bound by strict confidentiality obligations which in any event will limit the inconvenience caused by the processing. The alternative to processing would be that we would not be in position to provide the payment services.

Who we share Personal Data with  

Our suppliers of services for IT, recruitment, finance, salary and other business support may be given access to Personal Data in the event it is agreed that that Personal Data shall be stored at such supplier, or otherwise made available for the supplier. In such event, the suppliers are acting in accordance with a data processing agreement with us, and further instructions from us within the scope of such data processing agreement. Our suppliers may only process Personal Data on our behalf, still only for the purpose we have decided and in line with this Privacy Policy.  

We will never share Personal Data with others if this is in breach of confidentiality obligations set out by law or agreement.  

 

Marketing  

We will not process Personal Data for marketing purposes without express and informed consent, unless an existing customer relationship is applicable. Information processed for such purpose includes name, e-mail, phone and areas of interest.   

Recipients of newsletters and other marketing from us can easily unsubscribe this service by using the link included in each marketing message from us. 

In the event of an applicable customer relationship, marketing will be in line with the Norwegian Marketing Act Clause 15(3), providing legal grounds for marketing communication of our services to existing customers regarding the same or similar services as the recipient has previously ordered. In other events, express and informed consent is required in line with the Norwegian Marketing Act Clause 15(1) and GDPR Article 6. No 1, litra (a).   

 

Storage  

Our processing and storage of Personal Data is strictly limited to the time period needed to fulfil the purpose. In the event Personal Data are store for several purposes, the Personal Data are stored until the purpose with the longest time period needed is fulfilled, even if the processing of such data ceases when the applicable purposes are fulfilled.

Your individual rights  

You have certain individual rights to Personal Data regarding you. Conditional on the circumstances, your rights are;  

Withdraw consent:  In the event you have consented to receive newsletters or other marketing information from us, you are at any time free to withdraw such consent. We have made it easy for you to withdraw your consent by providing the opportunity to use a link you will find in all marketing communication you have received directly from us.  

Right to request access: You are entitled to request access to review which of your Personal Data we are processing, as long as this is not in breach of confidentiality obligations. To ensure that such access is provided to the registered individual, we may require that requests for access are provided in writing, or that the identity can be verified by other means.  

Right to request rectification or erasure:  You are entitled to request that inaccurate Personal Data regarding you are rectified without undue delay. Conditional upon the circumstances, you may also request that the processing of your Personal Data is limited, or that the Personal Data are deleted. To the extent possible we will comply with your request, unless otherwise provided by mandatory by law or other legal grounds, such as for archiving purposes.  

Data portability: Conditional upon the circumstances, you may be entitled to have your Personal Data we are processing transmitted in machine readable format to another controller. In the event technically feasible, you may request such Personal Data to be transmitted directly to the other controller.  

Complaint to the authorities: In the event you disagree with our processing of your Personal Data, you are entitled to complaint to the Norwegian Data Protection Inspectorate (“Datatilsynet”)
